A small shop that grew the right way.

Sportsmen’s Outpost started as a true mom-and-pop shop. We opened in 1989 with a few thousand dollars and a couple of guns, and started our archery operation in the late ’80s too. Over the years we’ve earned a strong reputation with Connecticut’s shooting and archery communities, built a loyal customer base and grown our inventory into one of the largest selections in the state.

That growth let us build out both sides of the shop. On the firearms side, we carry a wide selection of handguns, rifles, shotguns, optics and ammunition, teach the Connecticut pistol permit course in our own classroom, and handle FFL transfers with the paperwork done right. On the archery side, we brought on experienced archery techs, launched our TechnoHUNT digital hunting range, and invested in professional equipment for limb swaps, string and cable replacements and complete bow setups.

What hasn’t changed is how we treat people: a wide variety of products, competitive pricing, and knowledgeable staff, both old and young, who take the time to answer your questions.
